What is CEREC®?
CEREC is a breakthrough technology that uses 3-D imaging and milling technology that allows the dentist to create perfectly fitting, durable porcelain crowns that match your natural teeth. You no longer have to hassle with a temporary crown or wait weeks for your permanent restoration to return from a lab.

CEREC Procedure
The first thing Dr. Alidadi does is go through a color-matching process to choose a color that integrates with the rest of your teeth. She then makes a digital impression of your teeth using the Omnicam digital scanner. This is a virtual impression, so you don’t have to bite down on impression material or putty molds. The Omnicam scans precise 3D images of your teeth and gums in their natural color and send them to Dr. Alidadi’s 3D software.

Based on the 3D images provided by the Omnicam, Dr. Alidadi designs your crown on the CEREC system to create a new crown that matches perfectly with your other teeth and allows you to bite and chew comfortably.

Dr. Alidadi uses a block of high-quality porcelain to custom-mill your crown. Once your final crown is ready to be placed, Dr. Alidadi will make any needed modifications to your crown’s size, shape and color right there and then.
